Sylwester Wojcik

Partner

Sylwester leads the design and technical direction of Studio Carpentry — shaping each commission with precision, experience, and a deep respect for craft. From early concepts to installation, he oversees the entire process, ensuring every piece is made with care and purpose.

His journey into carpentry began in the 1990s in Poland, where a hobby gradually evolved into a small independent workshop. After moving to Scotland in 2007, he honed his skills while working with bespoke kitchen makers, before founding Studio Carpentry from a modest unit in Duddingston, Edinburgh.

With a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from SWPS University in Warsaw, Sylwester brings a rare combination of technical discipline and human insight to his work — blending design thinking with hands-on expertise.

He is the heart of the workshop: developing CAD drawings, training the team, refining the details, and ensuring that every element lives up to our shared standards.

When not in the studio, Sylwester can be found sailing, cycling, or skiing — or lost in a good book. A keen reader of science fiction and psychology, he’s particularly fond of Dan Simmons, Isaac Asimov, and a dram of fine whisky.
