In this elegant Georgian residence overlooking the Water of Leith, Studio Carpentry were commissioned to design and craft a pair of bespoke living room cabinets. The brief called for a clean, symmetrical design that would provide both functional storage and a refined architectural presence. Working to exact dimensions and within the traditional proportions of the room, we created two matching units — one of which frames the television — while maintaining a softness that suits the decorative scheme of the space. Designed with a painted finish and subtle bespoke cornicing, the cabinetry balances formality and warmth. Each lower unit houses soft-close doors with internal shelving, while the cabinet beneath the TV features a discreet pull-out shelf and integrated cable management. An LED lighting system was installed within the upper display shelves, offering the client the option of a layered, ambient lighting effect for evening use.
